AG Carr: I’m Fighting to Protect the Most Vulnerable Among Us
It’s my constitutional and statutory duty as Georgia’s chief legal officer to defend the laws of the state in court. As a lifelong conservative, I also stand firm in my commitment to preserving the rights of the unborn.
From prosecuting human traffickers to defending the pro-life laws passed by our General Assembly, I’m working every single day to protect the most vulnerable among us.
My team and I are ready to return to the 11th Circuit U.S. Court of Appeals to put our Heartbeat Law into effect as soon as the U.S. Supreme Court issues its official decision in Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization, a case involving pre-viability protections that will impact pro-life laws nationwide.
As the Left threatens civil unrest and terrorizes the families of Justices over the details of an initial draft opinion leaked to the media, their threats will not stop me from standing up for life and the rule of law. No matter what the Court rules, I will vigorously defend Georgia’s Heartbeat Law.
Every human life has dignity, value and worth, and Georgia’s pro-life law is representative of our state’s profound interest in protecting the unborn and maternal health.
As we await this final decision, I will continue fighting to preserve and protect the rights of all Georgians, and we look forward to the day when our Heartbeat Law can take effect.
Chris Carr
Georgia Attorney General
